About this specimen
Three smoky quartz crystals rise from this Erongo miniature at conversational angles — two slender tea-tinted prisms and one broad elestial whose skeletal, layered faces catch light like crumpled cellophane. A pinch of pale druse at the base completes the group.
Namibia’s Erongo Mountains produce smoky quartz with a personality all its own: pale, watery smoke rather than opaque black, and frequent elestial growth that gives crystals this sculptural, melted-glass character. The cluster stands upright on the mount shown without support.
It measures 5.6 × 3.8 × 5.6 cm and weighs 91 g. The photographs are of the exact specimen.
