About this specimen
Sichuan garden quartz at 4.8 cm and 47 g; a miniature floater, priced with the tip disclosed. A clear quartz crystal with a sharp termination, green chlorite specks inside and a base grown free; the supplier notes a slightly damaged tip.
Garden quartz (lodolite) carries inclusions of chlorite and iron minerals that build miniature landscapes inside the crystal.
Sichuan's alpine-type veins and skarns yield aquamarine, prehnite, epidote and scheelite of international quality.
By size it is miniature, 2.8 × 2.2 × 4.8 cm (1.10 × 0.87 × 1.89 in) and 47 g (1.7 oz). Disclosed condition: a slightly damaged tip. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
