About this specimen
One glassy fluorite cube in the palest green, its interior mossy with chlorite wisps and a single dark phantom window at its heart, crowned along the top edge by a ridge of snow-white platy calcite. A tidy combination piece from the Yaogangxian mine, Chenzhou, Hunan.
The dark internal cube is the eye-catcher: an earlier growth stage captured mid-crystal, visible straight through the natural, unpolished face. Chlorite “garden” fluorite like this rewards close inspection more than saturated material ever does.
It measures 4.8 × 2.9 × 5.2 cm and weighs 128 g, sitting on the acrylic base shown. Natural and untreated; the photos show the exact specimen.
