About this specimen

Sichuan gel-flower aquamarine at 4.1 cm and 27 g; a miniature from the Xuebaoding district per the supplier.

Aquamarine is the blue-green variety of beryl, forming hexagonal prisms with flat terminations; the Chinese material from Xuebaoding and Yunnan pairs it with muscovite and cassiterite.

Sichuan's alpine-type veins and skarns yield aquamarine, prehnite, epidote and scheelite of international quality.

The piece is miniature in size, 1.6 × 2.5 × 4.1 cm (0.63 × 0.98 × 1.61 in) and 27 g (1.0 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.

Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
