About this specimen
Golden chalcopyrite crystals gather along the upper side of a pale quartz group. A darker metallic area occupies the center, with small reddish-brown flecks visible around the surrounding white growth. Hubeite is also recorded in the association. From the second angle, the angular golden forms project beyond the paler base, drawing attention to the difference between their broad metallic faces and the finer texture of the supporting quartz. Dimensions: 3.5 × 2.6 × 3.2 cm / 35 × 26 × 32 mm / 1.38 × 1.02 × 1.26 inch. Estimated weight: 42 g / 1.48 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
