About this specimen
Mint-green cubes lie stacked across this thin Fujian plate, and every one is buried under a coat of micro-crystals so fine that the surface behaves more like powder than stone — matte from arm’s length, alive with pinpoints of light once you lean in. Faint lilac creeps into the lower right corner where the fluorite deepens.
The green here is pale and cool rather than saturated, which suits the frosted finish; heavier colour would simply be swallowed by the coating. Underneath, the cube faces climb in parallel terraces, a growth pattern you can trace with a fingertip along the top edge. Fluorite is soft at Mohs 4 and a druse this delicate rubs dull easily, so clean with a soft brush and nothing wetter.
Small and flat — 4.1 × 3.0 × 1.5 cm, 25 g — it suits a drawer collection or a thumbnail shelf, and was photographed handheld with no base. Each image here shows this one plate, no substitutes.
