About this specimen
Dimensions: 18.0 × 10.5 × 8.6 cm (7.09 × 4.13 × 3.39 in); longest edge 180 mm (7.09 in).
Two crystal growths meet at right angles in this natural clear quartz from the Himalayas: a long, frosted point runs one way, and a group of chunky terminations caps it like the head of a hammer. The result is a sculptural, one-off shape that looks different from every side.
The faces are bright and shiny, with fine growth lines along the long crystal and milky-white depth inside. One side carries a light dusting of natural reddish iron staining. Left unpolished, just as it formed, it is a bold specimen for a shelf or cabinet where its silhouette can be appreciated.
