About this specimen
Dimensions: 18.0 × 8.7 × 5.9 cm (7.09 × 3.43 × 2.32 in); longest edge 180 mm (7.09 in).
A tall, bright Himalayan clear quartz crystal whose faces are ribbed with crisp horizontal striations, almost like a stack of glass shelves. The lustre is glossy and the body clear, with a faint greenish tone in places and small orange flecks gathered around the base.
A natural internal fracture line runs down through part of the front face and is visible in several photos; it is part of the crystal's growth history and does not break the surface. The termination is well formed and the base is left rough. A tall, upright crystal that catches the eye from across a room.
