About this specimen
Broad pink rhodochrosite faces form the center of an elongated quartz, pyrite and galena association. Smaller pink blades spread toward one side, while clear-to-white quartz covers the opposite edge. A dark metallic-looking area interrupts the pale crystalline surface below the main pink group. From the second angle, the rhodochrosite appears more strongly raised, showing its layered position above the surrounding minerals and the depth behind the largest forward-facing crystal. Dimensions: 6.6 × 2.2 × 3.7 cm / 66 × 22 × 37 mm / 2.60 × 0.87 × 1.46 inch. Estimated weight: 49 g / 1.73 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
