About this specimen
Orange grossular crystals appear at intervals across a broad dark hedenbergite group. Several elongated green-black forms overlap near the middle, with brighter garnet faces exposed toward the front and upper rim. Pale granular details remain visible along the lower edge. The close photograph separates the orange crystals from the dark supporting growth and shows fine parallel lines across some of the longer faces, adding texture to the shallow mineral arrangement. Dimensions: 3.2 × 2.2 × 2.3 cm / 32 × 22 × 23 mm / 1.26 × 0.87 × 0.91 inch. Estimated weight: 16 g / 0.56 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
