About this specimen
Pale violet apatite appears among reflective mica layers in a compact uneven group. Under ordinary lighting, the larger pale faces blend with clear-looking and silvery areas around them. A supplied ultraviolet photograph shows localized pink-lilac patches against a blue-lit background. These two views present different lighting conditions for the same specimen, with the broader apatite forms standing out more clearly from the finer mica texture in the ultraviolet image. Dimensions: 2.5 × 1.2 × 2 cm / 25 × 12 × 20 mm / 0.98 × 0.47 × 0.79 inch. Estimated weight: 7 g / 0.25 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
