About this specimen
Hold this Brazilian phantom quartz sphere up to daylight and a single spire dominates the view: a tall, sparkling, copper-pink peak rising from the base through veils of white phantom, like a mountain breaking through cloud. The white phantoms open around it in petal-like layers.
To one side float clumps of dark green moss-like phantom, and turning the sphere over shows a deep red-brown mass at the base of the spire. The quartz around it all is clear and transparent, polished to a fine finish and. Our photos were taken outdoors in natural light, so the colours are true to life.
