Fujian platy calcite on green fluorite at 124 g; a small cabinet piece with a clean colour pairing.
Calcium carbonate in its rhombohedral form, calcite is soft (Mohs 3) and takes a bright vitreous to pearly lustre on fresh faces.
Fujian's fluorite-quartz veins have supplied collectors for two decades; the province is the source of most of the green and purple Chinese fluorite on the market.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 7.9 × 4.6 × 3.3 cm (3.11 × 1.81 × 1.30 in) and 124 g (4.4 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
