About this specimen
Sichuan prehnite at 6.7 cm; a small cabinet plate. Prehnite in a soft apple green covers the plate in a botryoidal crust, the rounded heads packed close with a faint translucency where the growth is thinnest.
Prehnite forms botryoidal and fan-shaped aggregates of pale green crystals with a waxy lustre; Sichuan produces some of the best.
Sichuan hosts Xuebaoding, Jinkouhe and Leshan, sources of aquamarine, scheelite, prehnite, gypsum and the epidote-quartz skarn specimens seen here.
Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 6.7 × 5.3 × 2.7 cm (2.64 × 2.09 × 1.06 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
