About this specimen
This unusual Yunnan fluorite crystal preserves a rich purple core beneath a pale porcelain-like outer coating. Yellow-green mineral growth traces one edge and partly enters the fluorite, creating a layered effect that resembles a crystal wrapped in melting wax. Ultraviolet light emphasizes the inner zoning and contrast between core and rind. The specimen measures approximately 4 × 2.8 × 2.7 cm and presents a different color balance from each side.
Dimensions: 4 × 2.8 × 2.7 cm / 40 × 28 × 27 mm / 1.57 × 1.1 × 1.06 inch. Estimated weight: 29 g / 1.02 oz, calculated from the measured bounding volume.
