About this specimen
A cluster of deep purple fluorite crystals showing triangular octahedral faces sits in a hollow of white, sugary aragonite crust that frames it on every side. The purple is dark and saturated against the white.
Purple fluorite with aragonite from Yunnan is a less usual pairing than the Fujian material; this is a thumbnail-size plate with the colour concentrated in one spot.
