About this specimen
An open central hollow gives this purple grape agate a pronounced three-dimensional structure. Rounded violet aggregates gather above and around the opening, while paler lilac growths extend along the sides. A cream-to-gray matrix remains exposed at the bottom.
The right-hand margin includes a longer, curved growth with a finely sparkling surface. Smaller spheres sit beside larger rounded forms, creating variation within the botryoidal texture. The dark interior of the cavity deepens the contrast with the bright outer surface. This Indonesian specimen is distinguished by that combination of an opening, mixed aggregate sizes and visible supporting matrix.
