About this specimen
A sharply outlined purple-red phantom is sealed inside this very clear fluorite from Inner Mongolia. Layer by layer the colour steps out from the deep purple centre to a pale blue rim, so the crystal reads like a little window into its own growth history. The faces are glassy and the phantom edges are crisp.
Minerals: Fluorite
Locality: Inner Mongolia, China
Approximate size: 2.2 × 2 × 1.6 cm / 22 × 20 × 16 mm / 0.87 × 0.79 × 0.63 in

The specimen is supplied in a 3.4 cm specimen box; all three dimensions and the weight are visual estimates against that box, not ruler or scale measurements.
