About this specimen
A heavy block of brass-gold pyrite with broad, striated faces in a cracked turtle-shell pattern, a smaller grey galena patch at the top right and white quartz along the edges. The lustre is bright and the block is dense.
Hunan turtle-pattern pyrite with galena at 562 g; a small cabinet piece with unusual surface texture. Lead sulfide present: wash hands after handling; keep dry.
Size 8.2 × 7.3 × 5 cm / 3.23 × 2.87 × 1.97 in; weight 562 g / 19.8 oz. Cabinet specimen, makes a strong centrepiece on a shelf or in a display case.
