About this specimen

The central cube is the reason to look. It is pale ice blue, takes up most of the front, and across its face runs a staircase of growth terraces — square ledges stepping inward at clean right angles. A rose-lilac cube leans in from the upper left, greyer lavender ones crowd in from the right and below, and thin white quartz crusts pack the joins.

Nothing here has been cut or shaped; the geometry is simply what fluorite does. Stepped faces like these form when a crystal grows fast enough that new layers nucleate along the edges before the previous layer has filled in, leaving the terraces frozen in place. The colour differences between the cubes come from small variations in trace elements and lattice defects as the pocket cooled — one chemistry, CaF2, wearing several faces. Mohs 4 and perfect cleavage, so keep it clear of anything that can strike an edge.

7.1 × 3.0 × 4.3 cm and 90 g, shown in the hand without a base. Nothing here is a stand-in: the cubes in the photographs are the cubes that arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Quartz natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
