About this specimen
Deep blue azurite groups are scattered across a broad matrix with pale blue allophane. The darker blue crystals occupy small separate patches, while light blue areas spread more softly across the gray and tan surface. Rust-colored details appear near the outer rim. The second photograph changes the reflections on the blue groups and reveals the shallow profile of the matrix, presenting a wide mineral surface with color distributed rather than concentrated in one large cluster.
