About this specimen
A tall, slightly milky quartz point with a pale green phantom core rises from a base of tan, granular calcite and dolomite, with black magnetite grains showing at the foot of the crystal. The main prism has skeletal, stepped faces near its tip and a smaller companion point leaning beside it.
This is described as old stock from Inner Mongolia; the piece also shows a fluorescent response under UV according to the seller's photos. Skeletal quartz with magnetite is an uncommon pairing and a good conversation piece for a Chinese-locality collection.
At 6 × 5.3 × 4.8 cm (2.36 × 2.09 × 1.89 in) and 64 g (2.3 oz) it is a small cabinet specimen that displays well on a shelf or in a cabinet. Sold exactly as photographed; any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note is disclosed in this listing.
