About this specimen
Several smoky quartz crystals rise from pale feldspar and mica in this complex Fujian association. Deep red-brown spessartine garnets are scattered around the upper ridges, while small source-recorded hyalite opal details occupy portions of the matrix. One long quartz crystal extends horizontally from the center, creating a strong contrast with the granular white host. The alternate angle reveals additional garnets and the uneven depth of this branching multi-mineral group. Dimensions: 6.7 × 2.7 × 4.5 cm / 67 × 27 × 45 mm / 2.64 × 1.06 × 1.77 inch. Estimated weight: 108 g / 3.81 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
