About this specimen
A violet-gray cuprite crystal projects from the upper corner of a dark blocky matrix. Goethite and limonite cover much of the rough surrounding surface, with reddish-brown areas visible through the darker coating. The larger crystal has a clearer geometric outline than the small scattered reflections around it. From the second angle, its broad upper face catches more light and the steep side of the supporting matrix becomes visible. Dimensions: 2 × 1.5 × 2.4 cm / 20 × 15 × 24 mm / 0.79 × 0.59 × 0.94 inch.
