About this specimen
Vivid blue allophane forms a thick botryoidal crust on brown matrix from Guizhou. Rounded turquoise surfaces merge into a triangular plate, shifting from bright cobalt along the upper ridge to pale aqua at the lower edge. Small cavities interrupt the coating and expose the darker host beneath. The single close view shows the waxy rounded texture, saturated color, and broad continuous mineralized face. Dimensions: 4 cm / 40 mm / 1.57 inch. Estimated weight: 22 g / 0.78 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
