About this specimen

A thin plate, a bare 1.3 cm through, paved edge to edge with fluorite crystals that shift from olive-green through smoke-grey to violet at the corners. None of the faces are smooth: each crystal is built in terraces, with older phantom outlines showing inside the newer growth. White micro-crystals speckle the gaps, and a lustrous black crystal breaks the surface near the top.

A phantom is a literal snapshot — a growth surface that halted, gathered a film of impurity, then got buried under fresh fluorite — so the ghost inside each crystal is the outline it held earlier in its life. Inner Mongolian fluorite is collected for exactly this green-and-purple layering. Fluorite is CaF2 at Mohs 4 with perfect octahedral cleavage; a knock on a corner lifts a triangular flake, so shelve it where nothing can roll into it.

The plate is 7.6 × 1.3 × 6.6 cm at 120 g — light for its footprint, and best stood upright so light rakes across the terraces. Photographed exactly as it will arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Fluorite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
