關於此標本
一頂鋼亮刃狀晶體的王冠加冕在這件湖南標本之上。輝銻礦晶體有的直如刀鋒，有的微微彎折，自一片沾滿小顆石英晶體的黃褐色母岩上以重疊的束狀放射開展，深刻條紋的晶面朝著身後較暗、較鈍的晶束擲出銳利的銀色高光。
輝銻礦是硫化銻，Sb2S3，而湖南正是產出其良好晶形的經典產地。它同時也是任何人擺上層架的最軟物件之一：莫氏硬度 2，軟到指甲就能刻出痕跡，單靠壓力便會被壓彎變形。切勿擦拭刃狀晶體，也切勿讓其他標本靠在它身上——柔軟的乾刷是唯一該碰觸這件標本的工具。
此件尺寸為 7.6 × 4.3 × 5.1 cm，重 150 g，底部的母岩夠平，足以讓它無需支撐地直立。相機記錄下的，正是離開我們手中的樣子：這一件標本，這些刃狀晶體。
