About this specimen
A plate of pale, pearly muscovite mica books carries a cluster of jet-black, lustrous cassiterite crystals at one end and a pale blue-green aquamarine prism standing near the other, with small quartz crystals between them.
This is the full Xuebaoding trio, cassiterite, aquamarine and muscovite, on one cabinet-size piece; the Pingwu County greisen veins are the only place in China that produces all three together.
At 8.6 × 5.1 × 4.1 cm (3.39 × 2.01 × 1.61 in) and 209 g (7.4 oz) it is a cabinet specimen that makes a strong centrepiece on a shelf or in a display case.
