About this specimen
Lustrous black cassiterite crystals sit beneath a pale fin-shaped calcite blade, with silvery mica books gathered around the base of this Xuebaoding specimen.
Broad angular cassiterite faces catch bright reflections against the translucent cream-white calcite. The calcite projects to one side as a thin, uneven blade, with a small opening near its outer end; the reverse shows a broad stepped surface. Layered mica clusters frame the dark crystals and continue down the lower part of the specimen. Five complete supplier photographs show its front, side and reverse, and a rotating video follows the same association. The supplier identifies cassiterite, calcite and mica from Xuebaoding, Sichuan. The mica species is not specified. Uneven edges, cavities and small surface marks are visible in the photographs; no flawless condition is claimed.
