About this specimen
Guangxi plumbogummite at 2.1 cm; a thumbnail, supplied in the display box shown. Plumbogummite in a soft sky blue forms a botryoidal crust along the top of an orange-tan matrix, the rounded growths catching a velvety sheen.
Plumbogummite is a lead-aluminium phosphate that forms pale blue to green crusts, often replacing pyromorphite; the Yangshuo material is the best known.
Guangxi's Daoping and Yangshuo districts produce the green pyromorphite, plumbogummite and calcite that made the province famous among collectors.
The piece is thumbnail in size, 2.1 × 1.3 × 0.9 cm (0.83 × 0.51 × 0.35 in). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
