About this specimen
Guangxi plumbogummite at 1.7 cm; a thumbnail, supplied in the display box shown. Plumbogummite in cream to pale green stands in stout prisms leaning against one another, with a little bright yellow caught in the hollow at their base.
Plumbogummite is a lead-aluminium phosphate that forms pale blue to green crusts, often replacing pyromorphite; the Yangshuo material is the best known.
Guangxi is the source of China's best pyromorphite and of the rhodochrosite and calcite from the Wuzhou lead-zinc mines.
Dimensions place it in the thumbnail range, 1.7 × 1.7 × 1.5 cm (0.67 × 0.67 × 0.59 in). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
