About this specimen
Guangxi plumbogummite at 2.2 cm; a thumbnail, supplied in the perky box shown. Plumbogummite in a bright chartreuse green forms a spray of blunt, rounded crystals that open out like a fan, each one built from fine botryoidal growth.
Plumbogummite is a lead-aluminium phosphate that forms pale blue to green crusts, often replacing pyromorphite; the Yangshuo material is the best known.
Guangxi is the source of China's best pyromorphite and of the rhodochrosite and calcite from the Wuzhou lead-zinc mines.
By size it is thumbnail, 2.2 × 1.9 × 1.8 cm (0.87 × 0.75 × 0.71 in). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
