About this specimen
The rose in this Yaogangxian piece is not the fluorite. A tight rosette of white blades opens at the base, and out of it rises one fluorite crystal whose edges are drawn in clear lilac while the core stays blue-grey and cloudy, packed with white cottony inclusion and a few dark green flecks.
Look closely and the crystal is not a plain cube but a stack of thin square plates, each set back a fraction from the one below, so the lilac reads as a fine outline along every step. That rim-and-core banding is growth zoning: the fluid changed while the crystal was building, and the last CaF2 to arrive carried the purple. It is a fixed pattern in the stone, not a trick of changing light.
The specimen stands 4.3 × 2.3 × 1.8 cm and weighs 20 g, putty-set on a clear acrylic block. Each frame here records this exact crystal on its base.
