Grape-purple fluorite cubes scatter across this upright Shangbao plate like windows set into snow — dozens of them, translucent, many carrying the faint cube-within-cube interior zoning collectors call phantoms. A fine sugar of white dolomite frosts the crystal edges and fills the spaces between, giving the purple a brilliant white stage.
The Shangbao Mine in Leiyang, Hunan, built its name on precisely this contrast: cool purple fluorite over sparkling pale matrix, with dolomite and quartz in supporting roles. Where Yaogangxian material shouts, Shangbao material glows — and this plate glows from across the room, especially with light raking across the druse.
It measures 11.9 × 4.1 × 9.9 cm, weighs 295 g, and stands upright on its own flat base — no stand required. The photographs show this exact plate from all sides.
