Shangbao Fluorite for Sale

Curated by Maggie Liu · 3 specimens available

The Shangbao pyrite mine in Leiyang, Hunan produces a fluorite look collectors recognize instantly: stepped, layered growth faces with strong purple-to-green color zoning, frequently accented by bright pyrite crystals from the same pocket. Where Yaogangxian is about glassy perfection, Shangbao is about architecture — cascading crystal terraces that catch light along every step.

Look for defined zoning (a crisp boundary between purple rims and green cores, or the reverse), undamaged terrace edges, and pyrite association, which adds contrast and confirms the locality. Shangbao production has slowed in recent years, so well-formed pieces are increasingly a collection anchor rather than a commodity.

Our curator Maggie Liu sources at Shangbao in person; each listed specimen is individually inspected and photographed under 5500K calibrated daylight — the photo is the exact piece that ships.
