About this specimen
At 28 cm this clear quartz tower from Brazil is tall and dramatic, and through its middle runs a single long, thick rutile needle. Partway up, orange-red rutile bursts out around it in feathery tufts, like sparks along a wire.
Near the base the needle meets golden-yellow inclusion clouds, and soft white veils drift through the otherwise clear quartz. The point and faces are polished, and the tower stands on a flat base. It is a striking, vertical piece that commands attention on a sideboard, floor-standing shelf or mantel.
