About this specimen
Sparkling blue azurite spreads across a broad malachite-bearing matrix from Yunnan. Dense fine crystals create an intense cobalt surface, while green malachite follows fractures and forms branching accents through the center. Pale host areas remain visible along the edges and in small openings. The close photograph highlights the granular brilliance of the blue coating, and the wider view shows the specimen's substantial elongated outline and distribution of green across its face. Dimensions: 5.6 × 3.9 × 9 cm / 56 × 39 × 90 mm / 2.20 × 1.54 × 3.54 inch. Estimated weight: 182 g / 6.42 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
