About this specimen

One steep amber crystal dominates: a calcite scalenohedron the colour of strong tea, translucent enough that light pools inside it and its faces smooth apart from a faint dusting of iron oxide. Up the left flank climbs a staircase of small salmon-pink calcites, each a stubby stepped crystal only a few millimetres across, with cream-white calcite filling in behind them.

Colour in calcite is almost always a trace-element story: iron and manganese present in tiny amounts are enough to carry it from water-clear to honey, amber or pink, and both shades are on show here in one piece. Calcite is soft at Mohs 3, cleaves perfectly in three directions and dissolves in even weak acid, so keep household cleaners and vinegar well away from it.

The specimen is 5.6 × 5.1 × 4.6 cm and weighs 115 g, sitting steadily on its natural base with no stand supplied. Photographed exactly as it stands, this calcite is the one that will be sent.

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Calcite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
