About this specimen
Two hefty calcite crystals — frosted white, softly translucent, their faces lined with growth striations — rise side by side from a rugged slab of dark grey matrix like a pair of glacier boulders. This is the Fujian habit collectors nickname “Benz” calcite, prized for exactly this presence: big, clean, sculptural crystals with real windowsill gravity.
Backlighting turns both crystals into soft white lanterns, the striations reading as internal texture, and the near-black matrix does the contrast work on its own. The piece is complete from every viewing side.
A full cabinet specimen at 18 × 10.9 × 14 cm and 1,324 g, mounted on the brass-pin acrylic stand shown. The photographs are of the exact specimen.
