About this specimen
Clear-looking quartz points spread above a dark mineral base, with several taller prisms rising through the center. Small warm brown helvine faces appear between the pale crystals, and andradite is recorded in the supporting association. The side view shows the quartz projecting outward at different angles and reveals the breadth of the darker lower forms. Broad base crystals and numerous slender quartz points create a pronounced contrast in shape and scale. Dimensions: 2.8 × 1.3 × 2.1 cm / 28 × 13 × 21 mm / 1.10 × 0.51 × 0.83 inch. Estimated weight: 8 g / 0.28 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
