About this specimen
Dark flat-faced apatite crystals interrupt a densely textured pale matrix with mica and fluorite. One larger dark crystal sits near the center, while smaller angular forms appear closer to the edges. Rounded-looking pale groups and fine reflective surfaces cover most of the supporting material. The second angle shows more of the central crystal's side and the depth of the surrounding growth, emphasizing the contrast between the darker smooth faces and the lighter, much more finely divided mineral texture. Dimensions: 4.1 × 1.8 × 4 cm / 41 × 18 × 40 mm / 1.61 × 0.71 × 1.57 inch. Estimated weight: 33 g / 1.16 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
