About this specimen
A broad dark fluorite face occupies the center of this specimen, surrounded at the top and sides by a dense pale beige crystalline coating. Smaller angular fluorite surfaces project near the lower and side edges. Under this lighting the body reads very dark purple to nearly black, rather than vivid violet.
The pale companion crystals create a rough border around the smoother central face. Angular fluorite faces meet the rough, granular dolomite border.
Locality: Fujian, China. Weight: 60 g (2.12 oz). Dimensions: 4 × 3 × 4 cm (40 × 30 × 40 mm; 1.57 × 1.18 × 1.57 in).
