About this specimen
Madagascar colour-change fluorite at 7.5 cm and 170 g; a small cabinet piece with an optical twist.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Madagascar's pegmatites and sedimentary basins produce quartz, celestine, fluorite and garnet in quantity.
By size it is small cabinet, 7.5 × 5.5 × 3.4 cm (2.95 × 2.17 × 1.34 in) and 170 g (6.0 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
