Small cream-white calcite crystals gather densely along this double-terminated quartz from Inner Mongolia. Turn it around and the elongated quartz prism becomes clearer, with a fine-grained surface and a pale calcite crystal near one end. The contrast between the busy calcite-covered face and the quieter reverse gives this slender specimen two distinct characters.
