About this specimen

A domed aggregate of pale lilac fluorite, built from dozens of cubes packed shoulder to shoulder until the outline reads almost spherical. Light enters the front faces and stalls a few millimetres in, so the surface glows softly instead of flashing; several crystals near the middle carry darker violet cores, and one saturated purple crystal shows at the base where the aggregate parted from its host.

Yaogangxian in Hunan yields fluorite across the whole violet range, and quiet milky-lilac aggregates like this sit at the gentle end of it — the colour comes from defects in the CaF2 lattice, not from any pigment mineral riding along. Fluorite is Mohs 4 with perfect cleavage in four octahedral directions, so lift the piece by its underside and keep it out of a drawer full of harder specimens.

The cluster measures 3.6 × 2.3 × 3.3 cm and weighs 45 g, photographed on a clear acrylic block with a pad of white museum putty. Photographed as it stands, this dome is the one you will own.

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
