About this specimen
Dimensions: 16.7 × 8.0 × 5.2 cm (6.57 × 3.15 × 2.05 in); longest edge 167 mm (6.57 in).
There is a lot going on inside this freeform clear quartz point. A large enhydro bubble moves very actively when you tip the crystal, and around it run dense trails of fluid inclusions that look like ripples frozen in glass. Slender crystals of bright green tourmaline cross the interior, though in these sunlit photos they read deep green to almost black.
Peach and cream patches and a faint grey tint add warmth, and the tip rises to a glassy point. The base is natural and slightly rough. It is a busy, fascinating crystal to study up close.
