About this specimen
Black goethite needles radiate across sparkling quartz from Morocco. Dark metallic sprays gather along the lower edge and inside a shallow recess, while cream to colorless druse covers the broad matrix above them. Warm iron staining appears around several crystal pockets. Two views reveal the contrast between the slender goethite bundles and fine quartz surface, along with the specimen's naturally stepped horizontal profile. Dimensions: 3.4 × 2.4 cm / 34 × 24 mm / 1.34 × 0.94 inch. Estimated weight: 14 g / 0.49 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
