About this specimen
Glints of light scatter all through this Himalayan quartz sphere. They come from a fine web of needle inclusions, known as a love net, which shows up as hundreds of tiny silver flashes and streaks as soon as the sphere moves in the light. Drifting through the middle is a soft patch of yellow-tan inclusion cloud, curling like a ribbon of smoke.
The quartz is otherwise clear, transparent and bright, and small pink and green rainbow flashes appear at a few angles. It is polished and a generous size for display on a stand, and especially lively in direct sunlight.
