About this specimen
A large iridescent pyrite crystal sits among pale dolomite rosettes and red hematoid quartz from Jiangxi. Broad metallic faces display gold, green and blue reflections, while the surrounding quartz points range from clear-looking to warm reddish tones. The alternate view shows the pyrite projecting beyond the white matrix and reveals additional fine crystals around its base. Its central reflective geometry contrasts strongly with the softer clustered host. Dimensions: 4.3 × 2.4 × 2.8 cm / 43 × 24 × 28 mm / 1.69 × 0.94 × 1.10 inch. Estimated weight: 33 g / 1.16 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
