About this specimen
A big, bright sphere of Brazilian clear quartz with a rainbow field that spreads across much of the ball. The colours run in bold bands of magenta, green, gold and blue, branching and curling around a network of fine internal crackle that glitters under light.
Each turn of the sphere rearranges the rainbows, from a tall branching shape on one side to a long wave on another. The reverse is calmer and almost transparent, showing a single horizontal healed plane like a horizon line. It is polished and and at this diameter it makes a real centrepiece for a table or cabinet. Video footage exists if you would like it.
